Here's a question for you guys, something that happened to me while I was playing the game about fifteen years ago. I went into a star system and the report said the system was stable (post-flare). I landed on a planet to do some mining, was there for a couple of hours, when to my dismay I saw a shimmering light on the screen and then a message saying my crew had been served up extra crispy. I had a couple of batch files set up in those days to save and restore my games, so I restored my game, tried again, and the same thing happened again.
Has something like this happened to anybody else? Or is it possible that the game can report a star as stable/post-flare when it's within a couple of hours of actually flaring? Or do you think it was just rotten luck?
